updated 1/28/11 Problem: No audio from Windows Media Player 11 when playing DVD or .mpg file. Video plays fine. Solution: Download and install AC3Filter here: http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter The Story: I got a new laptop at work. Windows XP Professional with Windows Media Player 11 (WMP 11) installed. When I would play DVDs, and most .mpg files (but not all .mpgs), the video would play, but there was no sound. I downloaded the AC3 filter linked above (got the "Full" file), clicked the .exe to install it, chose "Full Installation," and then I had audio on DVDs and .mpg files again. |
